Historical Background

Introduced in 1944, the Panther Ausf. G was the final production version of Germany's highly successful Panther medium tank. Designed as an answer to the Soviet T-34, the Panther featured heavily sloped armor for improved protection, a powerful 700-horsepower Maybach engine, and the devastating 7.5cm KwK 42 L/70 cannon capable of engaging Allied armor at long range. The Ausf. G incorporated numerous production improvements, including a redesigned hull, simplified manufacturing, and enhanced protection around the gun mantlet.
