Academy F-35A Lightning II 1/72 MCP – 12507

Product Description

Skill Level: Advanced (Academy skill level 4 of 5)
Best For: Builders who want a detailed modern U.S. stealth fighter in 1/72 scale, with open weapons bays and a full weapons load.

The Academy F-35A Lightning II (12507) is a 1/72 scale model kit of Lockheed Martin's fifth-generation stealth fighter, and part of Academy's MCP (Multi-Colored Parts) line, with parts molded in color.

The kit is a spot-on replica of the F-35's radar-evading stealth contours, with precisely reproduced panel lines on the upper and lower body and detailed cockpit instrumentation. The landing gear, canopy and weapons bay doors are positionable, so you can show the jet in flight or on the ground with its bays open. A complete arsenal is included: AIM-9X and AIM-120C missiles and GBU-31(V)3 and GBU-38 guided bombs.

The F-35A is the conventional takeoff and landing version of the Lightning II, flown by the U.S. Air Force and a growing list of allied air forces.

Beginner-Friendly Note: Academy rates this kit 4 out of 5. Decide early whether you'll build it with gear down and bays open or in flight, since that affects several assembly steps. Cut small weapon parts from the sprue carefully and test-fit before gluing.
