The M4A1 was distinguished by its one-piece cast hull, giving the Sherman its characteristic rounded appearance. This up-gunned version was equipped with the powerful 76mm M1 high-velocity gun and T23-style turret, along with improved ammunition protection through wet ammunition storage, resulting in the “76(W)” designation.

The M4A1 76(W) initially received a mixed reception from crews, but these tanks proved their worth during combat following the D-Day invasion, including Operation Cobra. This HobbyBoss kit specifically allows modelers to depict the early-production M4A1 76(W), which featured several differences from later standardized versions.

At 1/48 scale, this kit makes a great addition to a WWII armor collection while offering the opportunity to build one of the most recognizable American tanks of the Second World War.
