The Italeri LCM 3 Landing Craft Mechanized (6755) is a 1/35 scale plastic model kit from Italeri's D-Day 80 Years series. It builds into an impressive 43.5cm (about 17 in.) long model and includes 3 figures, a new decal sheet for 4 versions and a color instruction sheet.

The American Landing Craft Mechanized (LCM) is arguably the most famous landing craft in history, its profile closely linked to Allied amphibious operations in WWII, from Anzio to the beaches of Normandy. The LCM-3 variant was one of the most successful and widely used. Its design was simple yet extremely rational: the large front loading ramp allowed rapid disembarkation of a fully armed infantry squad or a 30-ton Sherman medium tank. Light armor protected the diesel engine, which gave a top speed of 8 knots, and the four-man crew who handled navigation and close defense. Its loading capacity and operational flexibility earned the LCM-3 an important place in 20th-century military history.

Because it is in 1/35 scale, it pairs naturally with 1/35 Shermans, vehicles and infantry figures for a beach landing diorama. Note: the landing platoon shown on the box is not included.

Beginner-Friendly Note: This is a large, detailed kit. Use the color instruction sheet to plan your painting, paint the interior well and ramp before closing up the hull, and test-fit the long hull halves before gluing.
