Italeri Bell UH-1D Iroquois "Slick" 1/48 – 0849

Product Description

Skill Level: Advanced (Italeri skill level 4)
Best For: Builders who want the classic transport Huey in 1/48 scale, in U.S., West German or Australian markings.

The Italeri Bell UH-1D Iroquois "Slick" (0849) is a 1/48 scale plastic model kit of Bell's legendary utility helicopter, the transport and observation workhorse of the Vietnam era. Decals are included for U.S., West German and Australian aircraft.

First introduced in the mid-1950s, the UH-1 "Huey" may be the best-known helicopter in the world, and reliability was its greatest strength. Thousands served as transports, air ambulances and gunships. "Slick" was the nickname for transport Hueys flown without heavy gun and rocket armament. The UH-1D introduced the Huey's longer cabin, letting it carry more troops or cargo. Licensed production in Italy, Germany and Japan put the Huey into the armed and police forces of more than fifty nations.

Beginner-Friendly Note: Italeri rates this kit skill level 4, so take your time. Plan your painting before you start, paint the cabin interior before closing up the fuselage, and test-fit major parts before gluing. Figures are not included.
