This premium airbrush-ready acrylic paint is accurately matched to the RAF Dark Earth color used in the Temperate Land Scheme on British aircraft from 1939, making it ideal for iconic subjects such as the Supermarine Spitfire, Hawker Hurricane, Bristol Blenheim, and Avro Lancaster.
Squadron Colors paints are formulated specifically for airbrush use and come ready to spray directly from the bottle. Each bottle contains a built-in flow control agent for smooth application, excellent atomization, and outstanding coverage. If additional thinning is desired, Squadron recommends using Scale Colors Thinner, water, isopropyl alcohol (IPA), or a combination of these. Do not use lacquer thinners or proprietary acrylic thinners from other brands, as they can negatively affect the paint.

Application Tips

- Shake thoroughly before each use until fully mixed.
- Spray directly from the bottle or thin with Scale Colors Thinner, water, IPA, or a combination if desired.
- Spray at approximately 18–25 PSI for best results.
- Apply multiple light coats, allowing 1–2 minutes between coats.
- Use over a quality primer for maximum adhesion and color accuracy.
- Allow approximately 24 hours for full cure before heavy masking or weathering.
