Painted slogans on walls were a common sight in wartime Germany, and a few well-placed slogans on a building or ruined wall instantly set the time and place of a scene.

As a dry transfer, the lettering is rubbed down directly onto the surface, with no carrier film to hide, giving a thin, painted-on look that suits brick, plaster, and stone walls.

Beginner-Friendly Note: Cut out the slogan you need, position it carefully, and rub over it firmly with a burnishing tool or a blunt pencil before slowly lifting the backing sheet. A smooth, clean painted surface gives the best results, and light weathering afterward helps the lettering look aged and authentic.
