Historical Background
The Tiger II (Sd.Kfz. 182), commonly known as the King Tiger, was Germany's final heavy tank to enter production during World War II. Combining exceptionally thick sloped armor with the devastating 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun, it was one of the most powerful tanks of the conflict. Late in the war, German engineers considered several improvements, including mounting a larger 105mm gun to increase long-range firepower. Although this variant never entered production, it remains an intriguing example of Germany's ambitious late-war armored vehicle development and has become a popular subject for military modelers.
