Build an iconic Italian World War II tank destroyer with the Italeri 1:35 Semovente L40 da 47/32 Plastic Model Kit. Developed from the hull of the L6/40 light tank, the Semovente L40 replaced the original turret with an open fighting compartment mounting the 47/32 Mod. 1935 anti-tank gun.

The compact Semovente L40 was designed to provide mobile artillery support and anti-tank capability for the Italian Regio Esercito. It saw combat during World War II in North Africa and Italy, with some vehicles later being used by German forces following the Italian Armistice.

Italeri's 1:35 kit features photo-etched and acetate parts, link-and-length tracks, and decals for four versions, providing modelers with plenty of detail for an authentic World War II Italian armor build.

With its unusual open-top configuration, riveted armor, and compact size, the Semovente L40 makes an excellent addition to an Italian armor collection, North African campaign display, or World War II diorama.

Historical Background

The Semovente L40 da 47/32 was developed by mounting the 47/32 Mod. 1935 anti-tank gun onto the chassis of the L6/40 light tank. The turret was removed and replaced with an open casemate, creating a compact vehicle capable of providing mobile fire support and engaging armored targets.

The vehicle served with Italian forces in Libya, Tunisia, and Italy during World War II. Following the 1943 Italian Armistice, some examples were also taken into German service.
