Historical Background
Introduced in 1944, the Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausführung B, commonly known as the Tiger II or King Tiger, represented the pinnacle of German heavy tank development during World War II. Equipped with the powerful 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 cannon and protected by exceptionally thick sloped armor, the Tiger II could destroy most Allied tanks at long range while resisting many enemy weapons. Although its firepower and protection were unmatched, its immense weight, high fuel consumption, and mechanical complexity limited its effectiveness. Despite these challenges, the Tiger II remains one of the most recognizable and admired armored fighting vehicles ever built.
